Kizzy the Rottweiler needs your help

Kizzy was rescued back in March 2013 from a breeding hell-hole. She was emaciated and the only thing she would eat was bread. Despite this she was a gentle dog who over the next months became a fit, healthy Rottweiler.

She is brilliant with our other rescued animals even breaking up the occasional fight between different groups of hens (we have yet to capture this on camera).

In March 2018 during the heavy snow I noticed she was dragging her right paw slightly, thinking it was just a limp or sprain I put her on drops that would help this, however, over the next weeks things didn't change.

Autumn and Julietta

Below is an email sent to us here at Forget-Me-Not Animal Rescue last month.

My daughter, Autumn, recently worked on a school project about animals and was shocked to find out just how much animal product is in the food we eat. She has declared herself a vegan and my husband and I have decided to support her in her efforts by going vegan as well!

Hen Rescues

There are always rescues taking place from The British Hen Welfare Trust, Fresh Start for Hens and Lucky Hen Rescue

Please do contact these charities if you have room in your garden for these incredible creatures. They will need somewhere secure at night to sleep in and a large area (not an Omlet area - far too small although fine for an area at night). Please see our hen factsheet.

On behalf of all creatures please consider how they are treated in the meat industry - see - November is 'Go Vegan Month' and buy compassionately and support non-animal research

Upcoming events

Forget-Me-Not Animal Rescue will be at the Big Church Day - West Sussex which is on 26th and 27th May 2018 and Big Church Day - Cheshire which is being held on 1st and 2nd June 2018.

Wildlife area now completed

Our wildlife area is now completed. We have installed a network of pipes that will allow natural water to drain in to our lake and as a result the lake has now been made twice the size due to local help.

The picture above is of just one of many overflows that harness all the rain we get from the well that provides us with water and yet thousands of litres were previously wasted before we put this system in place - the ponds and lake are home to hundreds of invertebrates, amphibians and a variety of wildbirds who nest here.

Valentine's Day cake sale
