December 2022 Newsletter

​​​​All of us at Forget-Me-Not Animal Rescue would like to thank you for your support over the last year. We really are grateful for you choosing to support us, it's made the world of difference.

We have had highs and lows this year, as with most years and yet we continue to make a difference.

The joy of rescuing rabbits destined for the meat and fur trade was a tremendous achievement by a grassroots campaign and resulted in the 'shocking business' closing down. Thankfully over 200 rabbits were saved and we were happy to welcome four of them here.

Sadly, one little boy was too poorly to make it longer than a few weeks with us but at least he had freedom and love before he died. The three others are doing really well despite having internal deformities i.e their sexual organs were not formed properly and as a result were entwined; the vet said it's very rare and is a result of in-breeding within the colony kept for the meat and fur industry. They love having the freedom to run and explore around their outside enclosures being able to act like wild rabbits would.

Although we are a small charity we do all we can to protect our local wildlife and the areas they live in. We make sure we are organic in our methods of preserving the land and we protect the badgers we are so fortunate to have living in our small woodland. The wildlife we have here is phenomenal and diverse and we protect them all.

Choose Compassion and Cruelty-free this Christmas. It’s so easy nowadays to buy cosmetics, toiletries and household products that are not tested on animals, the choice is fantastic. We have provided links to some to our favourites here.
